Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP)
About Us
The Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP) is a vibrant alliance of leading universities and research centres committed to advancing international and interdisciplinary research in higher education. Our work centres on driving innovation, shaping policy, enhancing governance, and promoting excellence in quality. By employing rigorous methodologies from the social sciences and beyond, we strive to produce actionable, evidence-based insights with a distinct focus on the Asia Pacific region.
The APHERP Directorship is jointly steered by Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, and Professor Deane NEUBAUER, Emeritus Professor at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Together, they provide strategic leadership and foster meaningful collaborative partnerships across the region.
Founded at the East-West Center in the USA, the Secretariat relocated to Lingnan University in Hong Kong in 2018, strengthening its regional presence. In July 2024, the Secretariat transitioned to The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, marking a new chapter of growth whilst maintaining close collaboration with Lingnan University.
