This project aims to present a management case series of distinctive business and management practices in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau that reflects the modern integrative practices of Western and Eastern business philosophies in the emerging Greater China market. This management series documents how Chinese companies flexibly formulate and implement their strategic business plans to sustain sales and profit goals under extreme economic turbulent environment with aggressive competitors operating within it (Hofstede and Bond 1988). Also, these companies are exemplified by their applications of modern management “style” (Chan 1999:294) which is mainly originated from the West in traditional Confucius societies (Shenkar and Ronen 1987).

By applying Drucker’s management theory and Confucian philosophical teaching of the noble man (i.e. Junzi), we attempt to develop a management teaching case series to facilitate learning and dialogue among academics, entrepreneurs, executives and regulators from a liberal art perspective, that is, a people-centered approach to analyze management practices.
